It was during her 2nd visit to RIMYI in 1994 that Stephanie Quirk requested to be able to stay and learn at the institute. For the next 12 years she remained solely in Pune studying and learning directly from the Iyengar family. She also undertook Ayurveda studies at the Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeth in Pune. Her study in Pune meant attending regular classes and daily practice sessions, assisting general classes, as well as all the the medical classes. When not in the practice hall or in a class assisting she was found in the library helping and facilitating the publication of the written work of BKS Iyengar. Stephanie began to travel to teach studios overseas. Stephanie passed on her vast knowledge of yoga and in particular therapy and pranayama. After each teaching tour she would return to Pune India, to continue her studies for a further 8 years. It was to be 20 years before Stephanie finally returned to live in Australia. Currently Stephanie teaches in Sydney both online and in-studio. A lot of her teaching is to students asking for Yoga Therapy. She continues her connections with studios world-wide who to ask her to come and continue the training the next generation of teachers. Stephanie has absorbed not only a deep understanding of the teaching of B.K.S. Iyengar she also possesses the ability to transmit it in a clear and precise way.
